The restaurant, once known as Sole of Manayunk, held sentimental value for them.

From Sole of Manayunk to Bar Jawn:

Originally, the locale was a charming BYOB Italian restaurant known for its intimate setting and delectable cuisine. It then transitioned and became to Manayunk Tavern, a local favorite offering classic bar food and a lively sports atmosphere. When Dave and Ana decided to take the leap and purchase the space, they envisioned a unique fusion of these two concepts – a marriage of elevated bar food with an unmistakable Italian flare.

The Birth of Bar Jawn:

The name itself reflects the local flavor and character of Philadelphia, using the slang term "jawn" to convey a sense of cool, authenticity, and a touch of Philly charm.
